They assist with information on what can be complex state law and applications to obtain vital records.
They must be able to communicate empathically and act compassionately, be familiar with technical medical and legal terminology and follow the law strictly at all times.

Scope


As an Birth Certificate Clerk/ Administrative Assistant with Women's and Family Services you need to know how to:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the Women's and Family Services programs initiated by the department
  • Work and maintain the front office/desk for the department.
  • Answer the phone in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maintain appointments.
  • Maintain the associate charts: pulls deletions, makes new charts, and files.
  • Process associate transfers and immunization records.
  • Data entry into various SCL Health data systems.
  • Process billing and invoices of the department which includes contact with vendors and internal accounts payable.


Additional Details: Will be scheduled (as needed) to help cover shifts within the Women's and Family Services Department at St. Joseph Hospital in Colorado due to vacations etc.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma
  • Medical terminology
  • Two years administrative experience
  • Advanced level typing and computer skills, including Microsoft and Excel

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
  • Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
  • See and read computer monitors and documents.
  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
  • May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.
